**I present to you one of the most beautiful stages a mother experiences**
I hope you enjoy reading.
**First Month**
1. Fertilization and ovulation occur about 14 days after the first day of the last menstrual period.
2. After about 10 days, the fertilized egg implants itself in the wall of the uterus, and blood circulation in the uterine placenta begins.
3. In the third week, the neural tube, heart tube, primitive brain, eyes, and kidneys begin to form.
4. About one month after fertilization, the embryo reaches a length of about 5 mm.
5. A sensitive mother may feel some symptoms (similar to common cold symptoms) around the time the next menstrual period would have occurred, and care should be taken not to take medication during this time.
**What the mother may feel**
– Absence of menstruation (missed period)
– Nausea and vomiting
– A urine pregnancy test may become positive in the first month
– To confirm pregnancy, a blood test is recommended
**Physical symptoms**
– Missed menstrual period; a light spotting of blood may appear around the expected time of the period
– Frequent urination
– Fatigue and drowsiness
– Nausea with vomiting and increased saliva secretion
– Heartburn and difficulty in digestion
– Abdominal bloating and a feeling of fullness
– Aversion to certain foods or craving specific foods
– Pain or tenderness in the breasts; the areola may become darker and blue veins may appear under the skin of the breasts due to increased blood flow
**Emotional symptoms**
– Feeling emotionally unstable, similar to the state before menstruation
– Rapid mood changes
– Impatience, tension, confusion, and anxiety
– Or feelings of fear, happiness, and high morale
**Guidelines**
– Completely stop taking any medicines or drugs, or undergoing X‑rays, without consulting a doctor
– Completely stop smoking or consuming alcohol
– Follow up on the pregnancy at a hospital or with a healthcare provider
**Condition of the fetus**
By the end of the first month, the embryo is very small—about the size of a grain of rice.
After two weeks, the neural core begins to form, along with the heart, digestive system, and sensory organs.
The beginnings of the arms and legs also start to form.
