Administrators of the Office of Islamic Propagation affiliated with Qom Seminary School (Hawza) met with Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on Sunday January 27, 2019.
In meeting with the administrators of the Office of Islamic Propagation, Ayatollah Khamenei—the Leader of the Islamic Revolution—regarded as an important duty of the office to answer the enquiries and intellectual needs of the youth, university students and influential communities, and he offered advice on motivational cyberspace engagement as well as pathology of propagation.
Praising the services of the Office of Islamic Propagation, Ayatollah Khamenei called the existence of innovation and religious open-mindedness as valuable and stated: today is the time for revolutionary and intensive work and activities and the city of Qom is in need of these types of perspectives and approaches more than ever before.
His Eminence referred to the Office of Islamic Propagation as a dynamic unit which enjoys numerous publications and added: Yet, the Office of Islamic Propagation is missing among the country’s influential establishments. This office should identify influential cultural establishments and by answering their religion-related inquiries, it should enhance their intellectual capacities.
Mentioning the various religion-related questions that the practitioners in culture and arts pose, the leader of the Islamic Revolution reminded his audience: Answering these questions and ambiguities is the duty of the seminary schools and establishments such as the Office of Islamic Propagation.
He recommended the Office of Islamic Propagation to prioritize tasks and concentrate on the delayed tasks at the Qom Seminary School (Hawza), further addressing the propagation activities in the virtual space by adding that: Different establishments engage in the cyberspace, however, this participation should be in a manner that attracts and engages the public. Moreover, the cyberspace provides the best platform for identifying and connecting to influential cultural groups and learning about their queries and intellectual trends.
Ayatollah Khamenei also regarded as necessary writing and publishing books as a method of answering the intellectual ambiguities the youth and university students have.
“Composition of Islamic Social Work”, “Networking and Convergence with other Establishments Involved in Propagation” as well as “Studying the Risks and Challenges of Propagation” were among other recommendations offered by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in this meeting.
He referred to an important cycle in propagation activities; that is, cause and effect of propagation, and went on to say: Merely sending individuals and groups as mentors to different towns and villages and insisting on their communication skills is not enough. The mentors should be educated as to be able to establish relations and make intellectual exchanges with apt youth, and within a few years, they can change a number of these young people into mentors in their own regions.
Finally, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the expectations from Qom Seminary School (Hawza) to resolve problems and inquiries and held: In the past, [Hawza of] Qom did not face such expectations. Today, however, Hawza is expected to offer solutions to religious problems and inquiries.
