Iran’s Top Commander Pleased with Border Security

TEHRAN (FNA)- Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri expressed satisfaction with growing security at the bordering areas of the country, and appreciated the Armed Forces for their vigilance.

“Despite the conspiracies and plots of the enemies to create threats in the border areas of the country, aimed at compensating for their chain failures in the region, the border security situation enjoys positive and reassuring growth,” General Baqeri said on Tuesday.

He made the remarks in his meeting with commanders and senior officials of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

In this meeting, which was held Tuesday morning at the IRGC Ground Forces Command Headquarters, the commander of IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour as well as the commanders of the IRGC’s affiliated bases, in separate reports, explained the state of defense and military preparations in their mission area.

Assessing and reviewing security movements and events, exchanging views on various security, defense and military issues in providing lasting security and strengthening intelligence aristocracy on movements in areas around the country were other issues discussed in this meeting.

During the meeting, General Baqeri appreciated the tireless efforts of the IRGC ground forces in providing lasting security in the border areas, specially in the Northwest and Southeast of the country.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard stressed that his country ranks first in the region in different aspects of air defense.

Iran is the number one country in the region in all areas of air defense, including detection, reconnaissance and interception, General Sabahifard said.

Compared to previous years, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Air Defense Force has made significant progress in all areas of detection, interception, and cyber activities, he added.

General Sabahifard reminded that Iran’s Air Defense Force is in possession of advanced equipment and weapons.
