**02 – Reflection and Taking Lessons**

To worship your Lord—
that is the greatest purpose for which the human being was created.

But how should worship be performed?
Is it through performing many prayers and fasting often?

Indeed, prayer is an act of worship and fasting is an act of worship. But what is the best form of worship?

The Noble Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
“An hour of reflection is better than seventy years of worship.”

Thinking about one’s beginning and one’s final destination, and determining the path a person takes in life, is considered among the best forms of worship. Abu Dharr understood the meaning of worship in this way. Therefore, it is reported in the noble hadith:

“The most frequent form of worship practiced by Abu Dharr, may Allah have mercy on him, was reflection and contemplation.”
