Muslim volunteers bring festive cheer to hard-up Huddersfield families at Christmas

Elderly folk and those who are shielding received some meals and presents on Christmas Day.

Hawzah News Agency – Young people from the Muslim community in Huddersfield spread some festive joy to those who needed it most today.

Volunteers from the Muslim Youth Association Huddersfield delivered food hampers to the elderly who are shielding, as well as giving meals and presents on Christmas Day in partnership with Community Church Huddersfield.

Sikander Mahmood, the regional youth leader said: “Young Muslims, took time out to try and make a difference to the lives of so many elderly who are shielding.

“The youth have been delivering hampers with food and everyday essentials over the last few days.

“Children had taken part in buying essential items that were required at the Humanity First Foodbank in Mirfield and delivering the items donated items at various care homes in Yorkshire.
