Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has announced to end their sit-in, that was initiated to protest against the target killings in Karachi, as the provincial government held successful talks with the organization’s leaders on Monday morning.
On Thursday, MWM organized a rally against targeted killings in Karachi from Numaish Chowrangi. The participants of the rally staged a sit-in near Shaheen Complex when they were stopped to proceed toward Chief Minister House. All roads leading to the Chief Minister House were blocked by placing containers.
Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon, special assistant of the chief minister Waqar Mehdi, Karachi commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui and Karachi police chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo held conclusive talks with the MWM leaders including Allama Mukhtar Imami.
The participants staging sit-in peacefully dispersed after the provincial government assured them of action.
