Shelling by Saudi Mercenaries Kills 4 Civilians in Yemen’s Hudaydah

Local sources, who asked to remain anonymous, told Arabic-language al-Masirah television network that the projectiles struck al-Zohour neighborhood in the al-Hali district of the province on Sunday.

The sources added that the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital, though health facilities in the war-ravaged country are suffering from lack of medicine and medical equipment, Press TV reported.

Al-Masirah TV cameraman killed in northern Yemen

Separately on Sunday, Abdullah Askar Majali, a cameraman working for al-Masirah TV, was killed in Yemen’s northern province of al-Jawf.

The television network said Majali lost his life while covering the advances of Yemeni army forces and allied fighters from Popular Committees.

The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 100,000 lives over the past five years.

More than half of Yemen’s hospitals and clinics have been destroyed or closed during the war by the Saudi-led coalition, which is supported militarily by the UK, US and other Western nations.

At least 80 percent of the 28 million-strong population is also reliant on aid to survive in what the United Nations has called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
