VP: EU Should Broaden Trade Cooperation with Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Vice President for Legal Affairs Laya Joneidi underlined that the European countries should fulfill their commitments with regard to expanding trade and economic cooperation with Iran.

Joneidi made the remarks in a meeting with the newly-appointed Ambassador of Norway to Iran Sigvald Hauge.

She called on Europe to live up to their commitments with regard to boosting trade cooperation with Iran.

The Norwegian side, for his part, pointed to Iran’s rich history and civilization, and said that his country deems widening of bilateral relations with Iran as very important.

In relevant remarks in January, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Norwegian counterpart Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide, in a telephone conversation, discussed the latest status of the nuclear deal, after the destructive move of the 3 European signatories to the agreement.

During the telephone conversation, Zarif and Eriksen Soreide exchanged views on regional developments, 2015 nuclear deal and the recent air disaster in Tehran.
