In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Dr. Wilayati, advisor to Ayatollah Khamenei on International Affairs said “NATO as a military alliance is eager to expand its influence to the East through Ukraine.”
Dr. Ali Akbar Wilayati, who is the head of the Centre for Strategic Research in Iran, emphasised that the Middle East and the Islamic World will not be unaffected by the political turmoil in Ukraine given its proximity to the Islamic countries.
He also stressed on the importance of putting an end to the foreign intervention in Ukraine and holding a fair election under the supervision of neutral international organisations.
