Clashes erupted in the occupied East Al-Quds (Jerusalem-area) village of al-Issawiya on Thursday evening after Israeli occupation forces took down a sit-in tent set up in solidarity with hunger-striking Palestinian prisoners.
Member of a local follow-up committee Muhammad Abu al-Hummus told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided the village from several entryways before raiding the sit-in tent, shortly after it had been set up. Israeli forces then destroyed and confiscated the tent.
Abu al-Hummus added that clashes erupted in several areas of the village, pointing out that Israeli forces deployed on the rooftops of buildings.
Meanwhile in the nearby Shufat refugee camp, clashes erupted at a military checkpoint at the entrance of the camp following a solidarity march with hunger-striking prisoners, who had entered their 11th day of strike on Thursday.
