News – Yemen: February 7 returns each year as a painful reminder for Yemenis, carrying memories of suffering caused by years of systematic bombardment by the US–Saudi aggression, turning this date into a record of crimes that targeted all aspects of life across Yemen’s governorates—from hospitals and mosques to roads, bridges, and civilian homes—reflecting a humanitarian tragedy that has shocked the world.
On this day in 2016, the fingerprints of the US–Saudi–UAE–Zionist aggression were evident in attacks on the health sector, where medical staff were injured in airstrikes targeting Al-Quds Military Hospital in Sana’a, causing extensive damage.
Simultaneously, air and missile attacks struck Sa’adah, Hajjah, and other regions, leaving martyrs, wounded, and widespread destruction of infrastructure, including telecommunications networks, water facilities, and agricultural land. The pattern continued in subsequent years.
On February 7, 2017, airstrikes hit the central market in Mocha, Taiz, causing martyrs, injuries, and fires in shops and vehicles, while artillery shelling targeted residential areas and communications sites. Similar attacks were recorded in Dhamar, Sa’adah, and Hodeidah, including strikes on farms, ports, and civilian areas, alongside the use of cluster bombs.
In 2018, airstrikes killed and wounded civilians in Taiz and destroyed bridges and infrastructure in several governorates. In 2019 and 2020, the US–Saudi aggression continued targeting homes, border areas, and civilian neighborhoods, with artillery shelling and air raids causing further casualties and material losses.
The suffering extended to civilians and children in 2021, when unexploded ordnance left by the aggression killed and injured young victims, while intensified aerial and artillery attacks hit Hodeidah, Marib, Al-Jawf, and other regions.
In 2022 and 2023, Saudi shelling and airstrikes continued to claim civilian victims and damage infrastructure, reinforcing February 7 as a lasting symbol of the heavy toll of blood and destruction endured by Yemen under the ongoing aggression.
Since 2015, Yemen has been subjected to a sustained military campaign led by the United States and Saudi Arabia, with participation from regional allies and support from the Zionist entity, resulting in thousands of civilian casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
February 7 has emerged as a recurring date associated with major attacks across multiple years, highlighting a systematic policy of targeting civilians and vital facilities amid continued international silence.
