6 – Tell him stories from the Quran
Children love stories a lot, so tell him stories from the Quran using vocabulary and style that suits the child’s understanding and comprehension. The stories should be limited to what is mentioned in the Quranic text to strengthen the child’s connection with the Quran. End the story by reading the Quranic verses to further solidify this connection and enrich the child’s vocabulary, especially Quranic terms.
7 – Prepare fun competitions with short Surahs
(For children aged 5 or older)
This competition can be between the child and their siblings or even just between the child and themselves, using questions and answers that match the child’s level.
For example, the mother can ask her son:

What word indicates travel in Surah Quraish? Answer: Journey

Name two seasons mentioned in Surah Quraish? Answer: Winter and Summer

Mention a word that indicates hunger? Answer: Hunger
Or: Mention the animals mentioned in Juz’ Amma or specific Surahs?
And so on, according to the child’s age and understanding.
8 – Connect elements of the environment to Quranic verses
These elements include: water, sky, earth, sun, moon, night, day, palm tree, grapes, spider, and others.
You can use an index or ask the child to search for a verse that talks about the sky, for example, and so on.
9 – Competition: Where is this word found?
Children are eager to expand their vocabulary. They start by pronouncing one word, then attempt to form sentences with two or three words. Be supportive in helping them increase their vocabulary and stimulate their memory by memorizing short Surahs and searching for a specific word through their memory. For example, you can ask them: Where is the word “people” or “the dawn” found?
10 – Make the Quran his companion everywhere
You can apply this idea by placing Juz’ Amma in his bag, for example. This will comfort him and connect him to the Quran, especially during times of stress or fear, as he will feel secure as long as the Quran is with him, provided that he learns the etiquette of handling the Noble Quran.
