Tehran — A group of religious figures, independent intellectuals, and freedom-minded individuals from different countries and faith traditions have issued a statement expressing their support for the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising what they described as the courage, ethical consistency, and civilizational vision of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Hawzah News Agency– the statement has been endorsed by bishops, priests, scholars of religion, and free-thinking intellectuals from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
In the statement, the signatories say they felt compelled to articulate their perspective on a leadership figure whose influence, they argue, extends beyond religious affiliation and political alignment and merits serious reflection in the context of contemporary global moral and intellectual challenges.
They describe Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a leader who, in a world marked by politicization, double standards, and hegemonic ambitions, has consistently emphasized principles such as human dignity, national independence, justice, and resistance to oppression.
“What draws our attention,” the statement notes, “is not his religious identity, but his sustained commitment to ethical principles, his courage in decision-making, and his civilizational outlook on the future of humanity.”
The signatories contrast this approach with the prevailing trend among many global leaders, who, they say, have yielded to pressure from power and wealth or adopted policies of compromise and passivity. In this context, they describe Iran’s leader as representing a voice that defends the right of nations to self-determination, fully aware of the costs such a stance entails.
They add that this characteristic is worthy of respect and reflection even for those who do not share Iran’s political system or intellectual framework.
The statement further argues that the contemporary world is in urgent need of leaders rooted in identity, independent judgment, and moral responsibility. From this perspective, the signatories view Ayatollah Khamenei’s role in reinforcing a discourse of resistance against injustice and domination as a significant phenomenon in the intellectual and ethical equations of today’s world.
Concluding the statement, the group emphasizes that their message is an expression of respect for a model of leadership grounded in human values and historical responsibility — a model which, they say, transcends religious and political divisions and deserves fair examination, dialogue, and serious consideration at the global level.
