Hello, O Month of Goodness — Welcome, O Month of Blessings

Hello, O Month of Goodness — Welcome, O Month of Blessings

On the occasion of the approaching blessed month of Ramadan, the Al-Wilayah News family, in both its Arabic and English sections, extends its congratulations and best wishes, praying for a blessed divine hospitality. From here, we declare ourselves free of any obligation, saying: I absolve you of responsibility, seeking closeness and obedience to God, the Lord of the worlds.
I congratulate you on the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan in the same manner that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, congratulated his noble companions. I say: the nineteenth day of the month of Sha‘ban is the first of the last ten days of this honored month, during which preparation for the noble Month of God intensifies. Let us hasten to make up for what we have missed of abundant blessings, so that we may enter the month of Ramadan in the best state.
Blessed is the one who adopts a suitable program and carries it out during the last ten days of the month of Sha‘ban, in which the following are especially recommended—particularly on Fridays—since God Almighty forgives many of His believing servants in the last ten days out of reverence for the month of fasting:
Increasing seeking forgiveness and supplication
Freeing oneself from injustices toward people, fulfilling their rights, and drawing closer through more righteous deeds
Turning to God and relying upon Him
Focusing on what concerns you and leaving what does not concern you
Recitation of the Qur’an
Repenting from sins so that you enter the Month of God pure and sincere
Fulfilling trusts and removing malice and hatred from the heart toward believers
Being mindful of God in private and in public
Frequently saying:
“O Allah, if You have not forgiven us in what has passed of Sha‘ban, then forgive us in what remains of it.”
Fasting the last three days and connecting them with the month of Ramadan, so as to attain the reward of fasting two consecutive months
Reciting the supplications for welcoming the month of Ramadan on the last night
Reciting Du‘a’ al-Jawshan al-Kabir on the first day of the blessed month, for “whoever recites it with sincere intention at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, God Almighty grants him Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree).”
