## The Arrogant Powers’ View of the World
Arrogant powers look at other countries with contempt and a sense of superiority. Through various media outlets, they attempt to portray themselves as ideal, while depicting others as backward and reactionary, claiming that these nations need a long time to reach the level of progress achieved by the dominant powers.
According to Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, the aim behind all of this is to plant despair and weakness in vulnerable minds and to inflict psychological defeat upon nations. He says:
> “If you look now at the geographical landscape of this world—its divisions and political practices—you will see what those rely on who imagine that they possess everything on this earth, and who look with contempt upon all nations while unjustly and aggressively dominating human and material resources. These are the powers of arrogance. What do they rely upon? The most important thing they depend on is instilling in nations the notion that their power is unmatched and uncontestable.”
Sometimes arrogant states go so far as to address others in the tone used toward servants or slaves, implying to the world that they own these smaller nations. Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, says regarding this matter:
> “It is truly rare to find a government that speaks about the countries of the Middle East the way these people do. They consider these countries to be their own property! This is what arrogance means.”

## Arrogance and Global Conflict
Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, points to a very important issue: the central cause of conflict in the world has always been the greed of arrogant powers that seek to dominate the peoples of the earth and determine their destiny according to their own interests and desires. He says:
> “The conflicts taking place in the world—whether in the past, the present, or the future—are caused by arrogant powers striving to determine the fate of nations according to their own will.”

## Arrogance and Massacres
It is not surprising to see the fingerprints of global arrogance in the massacres committed against oppressed peoples. This is natural, because the arrogant powers that daily speak of human rights, women’s rights, and even animal rights place no real value on human life except insofar as it serves their own interests.
Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, says:
> “Wherever you find a massacre against Muslims, you will see either a direct presence of arrogance, or its instigation and encouragement, or a meaningful silence that clearly expresses support.”
Dealing with humanitarian issues through double standards has become evident to the oppressed peoples of the world. While an uproar is raised in the United States and in the corridors of the UN Security Council over a wounded occupying Zionist in Lebanon or Palestine, the same voices remain silent when Zionists commit massacres in places such as Qana and Jenin.
Likewise, they loudly criticize the lack of democracy and political prisoners in the Arab world, while the signs of their own “democracy” appear in Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo. Regarding this, he says:
> “The satanic powers—what you call arrogance, represented by America—have risen against humanity and human values. The lives of thousands of people mean nothing to them. You saw how Israel, within fifteen or sixteen days, killed, wounded, and displaced tens of thousands and created disasters, without the global arrogance even blinking an eye, while it mobilizes its institutions and spends money hypocritically to save the life of a cat that has fallen into a sewer, even though it is merely an animal.”

One of the greatest examples of the massacres committed by global arrogance is the occupation of the land of the Palestinian people and the establishment of a Zionist entity on its ruins. This represents one of the worst forms of arrogance combined with colonialism, because it is a massacre against an entire nation that has the right to live and to be independent.
Regarding this blatant type of massacre, Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, says:
> “From a humanitarian perspective, there is an oppressed people facing a racist government that commits every form of injustice. All the lies and fabrications issued by America, international organizations, and what are called Western intellectuals about democracy stand exposed. From a security perspective, the Palestinian issue represents a security danger threatening the entire region—not only their citizens but the whole region—since they possess a nuclear arsenal and continue to produce more. The United Nations has repeatedly warned about this, yet they pay no attention. The main reason is American support. This means that the blame for Zionist actions and the usurping entity lies largely with the American administration.
> Know that during fifty years of Jewish rule, twenty‑nine resolutions were issued against Israel in the United Nations Security Council, and the United States vetoed all of them. Moreover, for nearly ten years after the collapse of the former Soviet Union around 1990, America did not allow resolutions against Israel to be raised in the Security Council. Therefore, the responsibility for all these crimes falls upon America. America, which sponsors the so‑called peace process and sometimes displays a deceitful and poisonous smile toward all nations—including our dear and oppressed people—is the primary criminal in the Palestinian issue. One of its crimes is that its hand is soaked up to the elbow in the blood of the Palestinians.”
