Allamah al-Amili devoted his life to defending the luminous teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt

Allamah al-Amili, who was a religious scholar, an expert in the history ‎of Islam and Shi’ism, a Shi’ah biographer, and a scholar of the Islamic Seminaries of Qom ‎and Najaf, passed away at the age 75 in the Lebanese capital of Beirut.‎

The text of the statement of this revered source of emulation is as follows:‎

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful ‎

‎“Indeed we belong to God and to Him do we indeed return” [The Holy Quran 2:156]‎

It is with great regret that we received the news of the death of the great scholar, the true ‎defender of Islam and guardianship, Allamah Haj Sayyid Ja’far Murtadha al-Amili.‎

He was a person who spent his blessed life correctly presenting the history of Islam and the ‎truthful Ja’fari school of thought, responding to doubts, defending the illuminating ‎teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt and who presented dozens of exquisite and valuable books to ‎the Islamic world, the Islamic Seminaries and researchers in this field. ‎

The loss of this cleric is an injury and loss for the scientific and religious centres.

I offer my condolences on the painful tragedy of the death of this blessed [scholar] to the ‎prominent scholars, Islamic Seminaries and academics, especially the noble people of ‎Lebanon and his honourable family. I ask God to grant a lofty station for his pure soul and to grant beautiful patience and great reward for those who remain.‎
