Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani, a senior religious authority in the Hawza, spoke to the officials of the Institute of Propagation and Answering Enquiries, in which, his eminence explained the necessity of understanding the proper method of propagation and also the divine blessings reserved for those who help clear the doubts of the people.
Quoting verse 125 from Surah al-Nahl ‘Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best’; he commentated: “Invitation to the divine path must be done through wisdom and appealing methods of preaching. This verse is addressing the Messenger (s) and your duty is also Prophetic with the condition that you carry it out well.”
Ayatollah Wahid explained the lofty rewards for those who help illuminate the society with their knowledge.
He stated: “The commander of the faithful states that whoever from among our Shia holds knowledge about our sciences and carries out one of these three responsibilities will be gathered by God on the day of judgement with a crown placed on their heads that will have enough light to brighten the whole gathering. [These three are] they teach something beneficial to the people, or they open the locks of ignorance, or they destroys the doubts which have been placed against us by our enemies.”
“Respond to doubts patiently and spend time on them. Speak softly and do not give answer to any doubts in the state of tiredness and weariness.”
Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani finished by blessing the gathering with a reminder of a story regarding a person who asked for forgiveness after repeatedly questioning Lady Zahra (s) to which she replied: “Instead of you asking me for forgiveness, I should be thanking you as every time you asked me a question, God rewarded me with jewels reaching the heavens.”
