Kerman Receives the Remains of 6 Martyrs from the Time of the 1980s War
The people of Kerman (southeastern Iran) escorted the remains of six martyrs from the period of the eight-year war (waged by the former Iraqi regime during the 1980s). Five of them were unidentified. The funeral procession moved from the airport to Thar Allah Hussainiya in the city center.
The remains of the martyrs will be transferred to the mosques of Kerman, Jetrood, Sirjan, Rafsanjan, Bam, and Jiroft in Kerman Province, as residents participate tomorrow, Sunday, in the ceremonies of the Day of Arafah supplication.
It is noteworthy that the remains of one martyr were identified after 28 years. He is Martyr Brigadier General Mohammad Shadman Mahani, who was martyred during Operation Beit al-Maqdis V. His identity was confirmed in the Iraqi region of Penjwin.
After the conclusion of the Day of Arafah ceremonies and the chanting of declarations of disavowal of the polytheists, five of the remains will be transferred to Tehran, while the remains of Martyr Shadman Mahani will be buried in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Kerman.
