On Sunday afternoon, Ayatollah Noori Hamadani, a senior Shia scholar in the Hawza of Qum met with a group of Hawza students from the province of West Azerbaijan.
In the meeting Ayatollah Hamadani stressed on a number of issues concerning self building and success in the Hawza.
He said:
If one has sincerity they will be able to correctly way-fare through the path of being a student of the hawza.
He also stressed on the importance of night prayers saying that they had a large impact on self building and growth of the student. He went on to mention that some senior scholars of the Hawza went as far as refusing to teach students who would not attend to their night prayers.
Another point mentioned by His Eminence was the need to always be selfless and humble in the presence of the teacher and the need to be careful of this within the individual, social and academic life of the student.
He gave reference to a story from the late Allamah Tabatabai when one day a person tried to put some perfume on the Allamah’s clothes but, he did not allow him responding that it has been two years since he had put perfume on my clothes in respect of his deceased teacher.
Ayatollah Hamadani also stated:
The people of West Azerbaijan have a long history in preserving and spreading Islam, it’s revolution and safe guarding Wilayah.
