The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom continued, “[The Iranian] negotiating team and the diplomatic system should have implemented a clause in regard to the commitments from the beginning and then they should have waited for the West to act but if they also acted in accordance with their obligations, they would have also taken other steps in the same manner.”
He added, “Unfortunately, the diplomatic system of the country didn’t act intelligently and after the signing of the JCPOA, Iran sought to fulfill the obligations of the JCPOA but the Western powers were satisfied with the same text and signing of the agreement and didn’t take any action.”
Ayatollah Tavakkol considered the bitter experience and defeat in the cause of the JCPOA as a crude result, ignorance or betrayal by some officials and said, “The enemies want us to unilaterally commit to the JCPOA and act on it. In other words, they want Iran to abide by all its commitments to the JPCOA in the face of almost nothing.”
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom said that in their pursuit of diplomacy, some officials played with the honour of eighty million people in Iran and emphasized, “Some officials are playing with the honour and dignity of the present and future generations of Islamic Iran with their path of negotiations and compromise.”
He said that Europeans will never part from the United States in pursuing the interests of Iran, said, “The Europeans easily manipulate the Iranian people in order not to never part from the United States. Our experience has shown that the Europeans advocate in all areas of the United States but we, as a believing and Muslim nation, must not make the same mistake twice.”
Ayatollah Tavakkol emphasized that the Europeans were merely pursuing a therapeutic approach and intend to prevent the second step to reduce Iran’s commitment to the JCPOA and said, “Today, the authorities must firmly declare to the West that we don’t want to commit to the JCPOA and this issue is demonstrated in our practice.”
He considered the only way out of the economic troubles is to adhere to the logic and diplomacy of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Khamenei) and said, “We have to defend the dignity of the Iranian nation and firmly stand against Western deception.”
