TEHRAN, Jun. 26 (MNA) – Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Wed. that the Trump administration’s call for talks is US’ trick to disarm the Iranian nation and eliminate the country’s elements of power.
“The Iranian people have been wronged [by the US economic sanctions], but they are not weak. The nation will attain all its goals,” Ayatollah Khamenei addressed a meeting with senior Judiciary officials at Tehran’s Hussayniyah of Imam Khomeini on Wednesday.
Commending the significance of justice and the Iranian nation’s resistance against the all-out pressures by the world arrogant in the past decades, the Leader said, “For the past 40 years, they [the US] have failed to defeat the Iranian nation.”
“The Iranian nation has displayed glory, sovereignty, and dignity in the true sense of the word for the past 40 years; that they say Iran can’t be defeated is due to this 40-year movement, not because of events in the past 2,3 or 6 months.”
He went on to add, “The Iranian nation seeks dignity, independence, and progress; that’s why pressures by cruel enemies do not affect Iranians. Look at elections and rallies turnouts. The enemies make so many sabotaging efforts but the people continue to participate with strong willpower.”
“The graceful Iranian nation has been accused and insulted by the world’s most vicious regime, the US, which is a source of wars, conflicts and plunder. Iranian nation won’t give up over such insults. Iranians have been wronged by oppressive sanctions but not weakened and will remain powerful,” the Leader maintained.
“When the US failed to achieve their goals by pressuring, they said: “negotiate with us in order to progress.” Yes! We do progress but without you. During Pahlavis you controlled everything and Iran moved backwards every day. You’re the reason behind the Iranian nation’s backwardness [then].”
“Negotiations are their way of deceiving into what they want. You hold the gun and the other side doesn’t dare approach you; so they say drop your gun so that I can do any harms to you. This is what they mean by negotiations,” he added.
“If you surrender to them, you’re done! And if you don’t accept it, they will keep fussing about human rights excuses. American human rights! They shoot down 300 people aboard a plane, help Saudis to bomb Yemenis in bazaars, celebrations and hospitals,” he sais.
The meeting, attended by Judiciary Chief Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, was held on the occasion of the National Judiciary Week, and the martyrdom anniversary of Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti.
Judiciary Week in Iran is named after Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti along with 72 colleagues who were martyred in a terrorist bomb blast in June 1981. Ayatollah Beheshti served as the head of the Judiciary in the early years after the victory of the Islamic revolution.
