According to Anadolu Agency, in a statement released in the Moroccan capital city of Rabat on Saturday, the union described Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks as racist and an attempt to further trample on the rights of the Palestinian people.
It added that the remarks show the disregard of the Zionist regime for international laws and called on the United Nations and the international community to counter Israel’s measures and decisions against Palestinian rights.
Netanyahu said on Tuesday he would annex the Jordan Valley, a large swathe of the occupied West Bank that Israel occupied in 1967.
Middle Eastern nations and European powers have expressed alarm at the plan, which Netanyahu said he would implement if he wins a closely contested election next week.
Arab foreign ministers also condemned the plan on Tuesday as “aggression”.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) plans to hold an extraordinary meeting in Jeddah on Sunday to discuss Netanyahu’s latest provocation.
