The 30th Islamic unity conference kicked off in Tehran on Thursday, with scholars and religious thinkers from more than 50 countries across the World attending the event.
President of Iran, Shaykh Hasan Rouhani opened the conference, entitled “Unity, Necessity of Countering Takfiri movements”.
The role of Takfiri currents in fomenting discord among Muslims, the need for countering Takfiri currents in order for the realisation of Islamic unity, the dangers that the Takfiri tendencies pose for the Palestinian issue, and the Zionist regime’s use of the Takfiri phenomena are among the topics to be discussed at the three-day event.
Attended by its prominent members and thinkers from other Malaysia, Russia, Indonesia, Iraq, Lebanon, Thailand, U.K, Australia, China and etc., the event provides a ground for its attendees to exchange their views for resolving the standing setbacks Muslim nations are mired in.
Over 300 domestic and foreign guests, a number of scholars from different countries and 220 prominent figures from across the Islamic World have participated in the international Islamic event.
